MIPI Splitter Board
MIPI Universal Pass-through board: NV054-E (MIPI-Uni-PaTh)
MIPI Universal Dual Port board: NV054-F (MIPI-Uni-DuP)
The NV054-E and NV054-F are connection boards equipped with a 22pin FFC connector.
They utilize a 22pin, 0.5mm pitch FFC connector, the same type used in devices like the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano™ and Raspberry Pi 5. This allows for MIPI daisy-chain functionality using standard cables.
NV054-E
NV054-F

While the conventional FFC connector compatible connection board NV011-D offered MIPI CSI-2 2-lane connectivity, this board enables 4-lane connectivity.
Characteristics
NV054-E (MIPI-Uni-PaTh)
The NV054-E is a board for outputting MIPI CSI-2 video signals input from a SAMTEC connector to an FFC connector via pass-through.
By connecting this board to the SV board, it can be used for applications such as splitting MIPI CSI-2 signals while capturing video. Equipped with a general-purpose 22pin FFC connector, it can also be connected to evaluation kits such as NVIDIA Jetson.
The NV054‑E supports two independent MIPI signal channels (upper and lower).
These channels can be input or output through the following flat cable connections:
- SV board side expansion port
- SerDes side expansion port
The basic port side is configured as a vertical pass‑through for both the upper and lower channels.

NV054-F (MIPI-Uni-DuP)
The NV054-F is a board for inputting and outputting MIPI CSI-2 video signals via an FFC connector.
By connecting this board to the SV board, it can be used for applications such as splitting MIPI CSI-2 signals while capturing video. Equipped with a general-purpose 22pin FFC connector, it can also be connected to evaluation kits such as NVIDIA Jetson and Raspberry Pi Camera.
The NV054‑F supports two MIPI signal channels, which can be input or output through the flat cable connections:
- SV board standard port
- SV board expansion port

Video Splitting Applications
The system supports daisy-chain operation, allowing multiple virtual channels to be captured by a PC. A single MIPI signal can be distributed to multiple MIPI SV boards, and each board can be assigned a virtual channel via its USB port. This enables easy acquisition of multiple channels, such as VC0 on one board and VC1 on another.
CrossLink Splitting
The MIPI SV board uses its CrossLink device to split the MIPI signal. The MIPI signal from the deserializer board is routed to the MIPI SV board through the NV054‑E, where it is split inside the SV board. One branch of the split signal is returned to the NV054‑E, and then routed to the second MIPI SV board via the NV054‑F.

Deserializer Board Splitting
The MIPI signal is split by utilizing the dual‑channel MIPI output function of the deserializer board. A deserializer board equipped with dual‑channel output sends two MIPI channels to the NV054‑E.
One channel is routed to the MIPI SV board, while the other is delivered to the second MIPI SV board via the NV054‑F.

Configuration Example
NV054-F Camera Connection
A general‑purpose 15 - 22pin camera flat cable allows direct connection of a Raspberry Pi Camera to the NV054‑F. (Compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 CSI camera cables.)

*For Raspberry Pi connection, the JP1 jumper on the NV054‑F must be shorted, and DIP switches #3, #4, and #8 should be set to ON.
NV054-F Jetson nano Connection
Our MIPI generator Jetson Nano Edition adds I2C response capability to the standard MIPI generator. This allows the Jetson Nano to detect the device as a Raspberry Pi Camera and receive video data through the same interface.

The MIPI generator is detected by the Jetson Nano as a camera device mounted at “/dev/video0”. Because it is recognized at the Linux system, the video stream can be used with frameworks such as GStreamer and OpenCV.
To interface the MIPI generator with the Jetson Nano’s MIPI CSI camera connector, we offer the NV054‑F. This kit is not part of our standard product lineup, please contact us for further information.
The NV054‑F is compatible with the 120pin MIPI generator.
